Something Wild: Amanda Zirzow at DAAS Gallery
Something Wild brought Amanda Zirzow’s interests in wildlife, biology, and expressive painting together at DAAS Co-Op Art Gallery & Gifts on the Alliance for the Arts campus in June 2024.
The June 7 opening welcomed visitors, collectors, and fellow artists for conversations about biodiversity, conservation, and the experiences behind the collection.
Amanda’s time at Biosphere 2, wildlife rehabilitation volunteering, and scuba diving have all influenced her perspective. Her work teaching biology and microbiology adds another source of observation and discovery, connecting the questions she explores in science with the subjects she paints.
The exhibition gave these experiences a shared setting, using wildlife imagery to encourage closer attention to the natural world.
Zirzow Gallery thanks DAAS and everyone who visited Something Wild. Their interest and support helped make the exhibition a meaningful exchange between artist and audience.
