Amanda C. Zirzow’s underwater paintings were featured in Between Worlds: The Language of Animal Spirits at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center’s Capital Gallery in Fort Myers.

The group exhibition explored relationships between people and animals through symbolism, storytelling, and imagination. Amanda’s contribution focused on marine life, including snook and sheepshead, interpreted through shifting light, saturated color, and layered compositions.

Her background in biology and direct experience in aquatic environments informed the recognizable structures of these fish. Expressive painting techniques gave the works a sense of movement and immersion, inviting viewers to spend time with life beneath the surface.

The exhibition brought together Amanda C. Zirzow, Arielle Katarina, Dharma Lefevre, Keri Schultz, Willow d’Armas, and Winnie Purple. Its March 6–26 run offered different perspectives on the presence of animals in both the natural world and human imagination.
